We can't believe we have come to the end of another term! It has been so lovely to enjoy the sunshine this week. Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Easter service, the children did really well sharing their poem and we very proud of them. In our science this week we have been learning about plants and trees. We have been identifying garden flowers and wild flowers and the difference between them. If you are out enjoying a walk over Easter see if you can identify any flowers or plants that you can see! Have a lovely Easter break and we will look forward to welcoming everyone back for the summer term!

This week we have really enjoyed the sunshine. The children have had lots of time outside using our outdoor learning environment and are particularly enjoying our reading shed. In our Maths this week, we have been learning about measuring; height and length. We have begun by practising using non-standard units of measure (How many cubes long is the pencil?) and have now introduced a standard unit of measure. We have learnt about and started to practise measuring using a ruler. See if you can measure any objects around your house over the weekend. In our Geography, we continued to learn about maps and compass points. We tried to come up with some different acronyms to help us remember N, E, S, W. I wonder if you could come up with some together, at home, for the children to share with us. Have a great weekend.

We have enjoyed another sunny week together in Cherry Class. The children have been working really hard in English to create their own version of the 'Oi Frog!' story. We have had lots of wonderful stories, ask your child if they can tell you theirs. Our PSHE this term is 'Healthy Me' we have been talking about all the things we need to do to keep our bodies healthy and safe. The children have come up with five important things; eat healthy foods, drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep, wash our hands and do exercise. Have a great weekend.

It's been a very busy week as always in Cherry Class. In English we have been enjoying coming up with rhyming pairs, the children were brilliant with this! We have then had a go at writing our own 'Oi Frog' story - our version is 'Oi Rat!' ask your children to tell it to you. We have been enjoying reading Roald Dahl books in class together. We have just finished 'The Twits' which everyone really enjoyed. Have a great weekend.

We have had a really fun week in Cherry Class this week. In English our learning continues to be focused on the story 'Oi Frog'. We have enjoyed talking about the characters in the book and we thought of questions that we would like to ask them and have practised writing them and using the correct end mark. Our PSHE this half term is 'Healthy Me'. We will be discussing what we need to be doing to stay fit and healthy. We had lots of wonderful costumes for World Book Day on Thursday, we enjoyed doing a catwalk in the classroom to show off our outfits and it was a really fun day.
